holiday hues!

We’re in the midst of the holiday season now. Yesterday marked the beginning of Chanukah and Christmas is this weekend, leaving New Year’s just around the corner! All the festivities give us an opportunity to shine with metallic hues. Tinsel and lights and Silver Bells playing on the radio.  I think there’s no better way to spin all that glitz into inspiration than by curating some silver wedding ideas! You can watch our team pin away on our Silver Weddings board but we thought we’d give you some of our best ideas right here.

How beautiful would this lantern look in rows along the head table? Or lighting up a snow covered path for a winter wedding reception. It’s delicate, it’s whimsical, it’s silver, it’s perfect.

Take an afternoon to check out vintage shops and thrift stores to stock up on old silverware. These would make great DIY wedding place-cards for the bride and groom! Or you could use them to make fun phrases and incorporate them in your centerpieces. Think: magnetic poetry silliness for all your tables. Or if you have a smaller wedding, or happen to be feeling extra motivated, why not consider these as favors? You could hammer out different types of cheese for use with a cheese board, or make garden tags for herbs. Be creative!

We think these centerpieces are really fantastic. They convey everything we love about silver without being too flashy. The clear hurricane is a brilliant touch as it allows guests to see one another from across the table. The silvery branches are the right amount of wintry, and with some glittery bits and bobs dangling from them they really add something special. This would, again, be a pretty do-able DIY project. Cream flowers look fantastic against silver and, in this instance, really complete the look. I wouldn’t mind being a guest at this wedding!

Fancy the mid-century modern look? These cakes look fab placed in front of the modern mirror. The hues are subtle yet sophisticated. We really love how the shape of the mirror is mirrored on the smaller two-tiered cakes. You could totally adopt this look for any theme. Think Vintage, for instance. Why set the scene with an ornate silver framed mirror and adorn the cakes with lace doily patterns. In silver, of course.

What a great way to incorporate silver into the bouquet. When you’re out getting all your second-hand silverware, keep your eyes peeled for vintage broaches, hairpins and ribbons. This is really stunning off-set by the ivory dress not to mention fabulous for a winter wedding when your choice of flowers may not be as abundant. You may want to skip the bouquet toss with this one!

Monte Carlo Night!

It really doesn’t get better than this. Last weekend we created a spectacular holiday event for Producer’s Choice. This was our 5th year providing them with fantastic decor and superb entertainment. This year’s Monte Carlo theme was the perfect opportunity to implement some of our best props, decor and casino equipment. Event production by Joe Peraino.

For a Monte Carlo themed party, you really need to have a good mix of luxury and sophistication. Guests were ushered down a gold carpet runner and greeted with an arched entrance flanked with palm trees. The room was graced with fountains and statues, nicely lit against the dark decor of the room.

Lorio Ross provided really sleek black Chiavari chairs and iridescent crush black linens. The floral table arrangements, which incorporated a crystal candlestick with beaded shade,  really popped against the black table settings.

A good corporate party isn’t just about the decor. For this Monte Carlo party we provided deluxe, skirted black jack, poker, craps and roulette tables. Guests had a variety of games to choose from as Lorio Ross Entertainment provided 10 dealers!

The night continued with some fantastic entertainment from the spectacular band Nightline. The group’s repertoire covers music from the Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey-era straight through golden oldies, Motown, disco and Top 40.

The stage was set with a fiber-optic curtain as the backdrop, which really added to the ambiance of the performance. Check out Nightline here!

There’s a clever little platform out there called Pinterest. We’ve known about it for a while but only recently started putting it to good use. Not only is it another way for us, as an events and entertainment company, to connect with people but it is also a fantastic way to keep track of ideas and inspirations for future events, parties and weddings.

When it comes to event planning, the sky really is the limit. No longer is there a template for events. Holiday parties, weddings, corporate events, private engagements… your only limit is your imagination. Because we want to be able to work with any concept a client fancies, it is important for us to have a place to stockpile ideas, references and any other cool stuff we happen to stumble upon.

At Lorio Ross Entertainment, our involvement with our clients spans from booking a band or providing black jack dealers to complete event planning. So whether we’re just providing lighting or producing the event from the ground up, we’re excited to have some digital pinboards on which to keep our favorite ideas.

We’ve already started pinning… Check out some of our pinboards below!

McDonald’s Holiday Party – Mardi Gras Style!

When we plan a corporate party here at Lorio Ross, we like to go all out with festive centerpieces, colorful linens and spectacular visuals. These aspects make such an impact, especially when the party’s theme is Mardi Gras!

Last weekend we executed a carnival-esque affair for the 12th annual McDonald’s holiday party. Under the event production of  Joe Peraino, the corporate event was a huge success. Hosted at Greektown Casino Hotel, we provided the linens, decor, and entertainment! Masks and beads adorned the tables complete with purple and gold linens. Guests danced as the DJ dropped beats in front of a giant Mardi Gras mural. It really was a festive affair.

This is just the first of many festive parties we’ve got on our book this month! Watch this space for more pics!
