By the end of the night, if your band or DJ is good, your guests will have danced and sang and swayed and all that other good dance party stuff. Here are some songs that will help you end your night on that high note!

The dance song to end all dance parties, I’ve Had The Time of My Life is sure to get people moving and belting out the lyrics.

Featured Event: Josh Gracin

Last month we had the opportunity to book Josh Gracin for a private event. Yep, that’s right. That Josh Gracin.

Sandee Singer, Senior Event Coordinator for Lorio Ross Entertainment was the agent responsible for pulling it all off. Thanks, Sandee, for sharing with us how it all came together!

July 13th – a beautiful day in Farwell, MI (north of Mt. Pleasant).  One of our clients had a family reunion held on their property in Farwell and wanted to celebrate  by inviting a young, rising country star to join them and be one of the highlights of the weekend.  They called me to offer suggestions for some up and coming acts that might be in the area, and I learned that Josh Gracin,  former American Idol contestant, was routed in the area.  With the client’s permission, I offered Josh the opportunity to perform in Farwell and he accepted. So with less than two weeks to plan, I was able to secure sound & lighting, catering, rentals, décor and the staff to accommodate this joyous event!  When Josh and his crew arrived on Friday afternoon, they were all invited to spend the day at the lake  – swimming, jet skiing, tubing and 4-wheelin!  The guys had an absolute blast!  Later in the evening, after a fantastic supper, the guests moved to the beach for the concert.  Staged on two hay wagons, was Josh Gracin’s group, ready to perform at sunset!  Josh gave an amazing performance and had the guests dancing and partying all night long!

Some of the vendors who made this event so special – caterer, “Camille’s on the River,” from Mt. Pleasant, MI  – http://www.camillesontheriver.com/ –  this company is outstanding!  The food was spectacular – sliders for late night snack, burgers for lunch (beef, turkey & portabello mushroom), dinner – filet mignon, wild caught salmon fillets flown in from Tasmania, and brunch included a Bloody Mary bar and made-to-order omelets!  Their service and attention to detail was impeccable!  I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a high-end, full service caterer.

“Everything Audio”  out of Mount Pleasant, MI, helped me to pull together sound and lighting.  The owner, Henry Kubin, has been providing sound for events in the Central Michigan area for more than 25 years, working with many local, regional and national acts.  He hooked me up also with “Sound Productions” out of Clare, MI http://www.soundproductions.com/  – they provided the outstanding DJ and staffing for both nights.

It is always so fun to hear how an event came together and was a success! Remember, we do book a lot of Detroit’s best talent but our agents really can deliver on almost any request.

Parades, Costumes, Beads – It’s Mardi Gras!

Okay, so we realize we’re a little late on this. Mardi Gras was officially yesterday. We’re going to blame our belatedness on one-too-many paczkis.

Mardi Gras is the ultimate party. It’s colorful, lively and eclectic. There’s booze and fancy donuts. And the carnivalesque festivities culminate with costumes and parades. The carnival season may only last a couple of weeks but Mardi Gras makes for a fantastic theme party any time of year. With myriad decoration ideas and a great color scheme, a Mardi Gras themed party is perfect for a corporate event, holiday party, birthday extravaganza or any other special occasion.

If anyone knows how to throw a Mardi Gras party it’s Joe Peraino, our CEO and corporate event guru. Complete with masks, beads, extravagant entrances, costumed jokers, fantastic music and spectacular decor, a Lorio Ross Entertainment Mardi Gras party promises to be as colorful, lively and eclectic as the real thing!

pinteresting

There’s a clever little platform out there called Pinterest. We’ve known about it for a while but only recently started putting it to good use. Not only is it another way for us, as an events and entertainment company, to connect with people but it is also a fantastic way to keep track of ideas and inspirations for future events, parties and weddings.

When it comes to event planning, the sky really is the limit. No longer is there a template for events. Holiday parties, weddings, corporate events, private engagements… your only limit is your imagination. Because we want to be able to work with any concept a client fancies, it is important for us to have a place to stockpile ideas, references and any other cool stuff we happen to stumble upon.

At Lorio Ross Entertainment, our involvement with our clients spans from booking a band or providing black jack dealers to complete event planning. So whether we’re just providing lighting or producing the event from the ground up, we’re excited to have some digital pinboards on which to keep our favorite ideas.

We’ve already started pinning… Check out some of our pinboards below!

Happy Pinning!

McDonald’s Holiday Party – Mardi Gras Style!

When we plan a corporate party here at Lorio Ross, we like to go all out with festive centerpieces, colorful linens and spectacular visuals. These aspects make such an impact, especially when the party’s theme is Mardi Gras!

Last weekend we executed a carnival-esque affair for the 12th annual McDonald’s holiday party. Under the event production of  Joe Peraino, the corporate event was a huge success. Hosted at Greektown Casino Hotel, we provided the linens, decor, and entertainment! Masks and beads adorned the tables complete with purple and gold linens. Guests danced as the DJ dropped beats in front of a giant Mardi Gras mural. It really was a festive affair.

This is just the first of many festive parties we’ve got on our book this month! Watch this space for more pics!
